Treasury to tackle gender imbalance; UK BULLETINS.

THE Treasury is launching a review on how to tackle barriers faced by women in business.

The move follows evidence that women are half as likely as men to be involved in starting a business.

Alison Rose, chief executive of RBS Commercial and Private Banking, who will lead the review, said: "Statistics show that women make up only a third of all entrepreneurs in the UK. To better drive the UK's economy, we need to understand and tackle the barriers and reasons as to why this is."

Just over a quarter of full-time company chief executives and senior officials are women.
