US online travel firm Travelocity said it has named the winner of its Great Gnome Nabbing contest. The contest is part of the company's ongoing "Roaming Gnome" promotion.
Out of nearly 1,000 video submissions, the Travelocity Roaming Gnome character nabbed Ashley Castle from her home in New York, N.Y. to take her on an adventure of a lifetime worth USD 65,000, according to the company.
Beginning September 30, travel enthusiasts, like Castle, from across the country submitted videos to the Roaming Gnome explaining why they should be nabbed and taken on an around-the-globe trip.
Castle leveraged social media to spread the word about The Great Gnome Nabbing and to ultimately earn the most consumer votes out of all Top 10 Finalists.
The trip for Castle and her guest, Jeanne Grabowski, features business class flights across five continents, first-rate accommodations, unforgettable sights and the opportunity to make a difference with Travelocity Travel for Goodvolunteer activities.
