Adventure Life Adventure Life Announces Rainforest Alliance Costa Rica Tour. Latin Americatravel specialist Adventure Life introduced a new Rainforest Alliance Verified Costa Rica tour that combines outdoor adventure with visits to Rainforest Alliance Certified farms and reserves. Participants can learn about sustainable practices, raft the Sarapiqui River, hike through pristine rainforests and kayak in the Caribbean Sea. The tour was put together through an alliance with Rainforest Alliance Verified inbound operations in Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Costa Rica, which exist to promote sustainable tourism. The Rainforest Alliance Verified Costa Rica tour begins with a visit to Doka Coffee Plantation, where guests will learn how coffee is picked, milled and ground. Also included is a stop at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, home to a variety of species of humming birds and the world's largest enclosed butterfly observatory. Clients can join a seven-mile rafting experience on the Sarapiqui River through exciting class II and III rapids and learn about the natural history of rainforest species at the 750-acre Tirimbina Biological Reserve. Other highlights of the Rainforest Alliance Verified Costa Rica tour include visiting Turrialba Volcano or the Guayabo Archaeological Site; exploring one of Dole's Rainforest Alliance Certified farms; a snorkeling and hiking tour in Cahuita National Park; encountering monkeys, sloths, iguanas and the poisonous dart frog; discovering the town of Puerto Viejo; and optional snorkeling, sea kayaking, and zip-line canopy tours. Cruise Critic Survey: Hurricane season might not deter 77% from cruising. A total of 77% of cruisers surveyed by Cruise Critic said they would consider cruising during the hurricane season, which begins Friday. Thirty-two percent responded that they have already signed up for a cruise during the hurricane season, while 23% said the season was too risky for cruising. May 29, 2012
