Trapped by hand delivery.

Byline: By GREIG CAMERON

A POSTMAN was trapped for more than an hour after getting his hand stuck in a post box.

The 38-year-old was making his evening collection from the freshly-painted box in Easter Road, Edinburgh.

But the specialised anti-vandal paint had become like a glue, sealing the door shut.

The postie put his hand inside the letter slot to give himself more leverage to pull the door open only to trap his fingers in a metal anti-theft device which stops people lifting post out of the box.

The postie then used his free hand to call the fire brigade on his mobile.

Mike Hakan, 34, who owns a hairdressers next to the post box, said: "It was bizarre. They had to drill the door open to get his hand out."
