Training boost for Bapco staff.

MANAMA: Bapco's security personnel are to receive specialised training to enhance their job-specific knowledge and skills following the launch of a year-long security enhancement training scheme.

It was launched with an orientation session at the Refinery Training Centre in Sitra, which was attended by more than 100 Bapco security officers and guards.

The scheme will have a number of phases.

The preparatory programme predominantly features an English language competency development course, which conforms with International English Language Testing Services (IELTS) standards.

This course focuses on improving the communication skills of the participants, enabling them to better cope with the language proficiency requirements of subsequent courses in the scheme.

The Security Enhancement Initiative (SEI), to be conducted by external specialists, will comprise three phases covering a wide range of job-specific training, such as basic security operations, gate security guarding, quick reaction patrolling, patrolling and guarding, team leading, control room operation and control room supervision.

The enhanced knowledge and skills of the SEI could lead to participants gaining certificates from International Vocational Qualifications and the Business and Technology Education Council.

The overall scheme is in line with Bapco's commitment to the professional development of all employees.
