Trained professionals must to enhance dairy production: Dr Pursley.
The workshop was organized department of Theriogenology. Dr Richard said that modern training was of vital importance to meet the needs of rapid growth of dairy sector in Pakistan. Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the University of Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad explained that the poor reproductive efficiency due to delayed puberty and longer calving interval was causing major economical losses to the dairy sector.
He stressed the need of awareness on estrus synchronization to enhance fertility in order to make dairy farming more profitable. He described the objective of the Workshop as a tool to share knowledge, information and experience of Estrus Synchronization, ovulation and fertility in dairy animals. Vice Chancellor of the UVAS Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha appreciated the efforts made by the department and said that this was a real utilization of video conferencing facility developed at the university by the Higher Education Commission.
He emphasized and encouraged other faculties to follow the same in different areas of animal and veterinary sciences in order to enhance the productivity. Dean faculty of veterinary science Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad distributed the certificate among participants.
