Traffic light work to begin.

WORK to install new traffic lights at five entry roads on the A19 and A66 will start next week.

The lights are being installed as part of a new scheme to support future development, improve traffic flows, and reduce congestion at the junctions.

The Highways Agency aims to better regulate traffic joining these roads. Work will begin on Monday November 15.

The system, known as ramp metering, will be ready to switch-on by the end of March 2011.

The ramp metering sites are: * A19/A1027 southbound entry slip road * A19/A139 southbound entry slip road * A19/A1046 southbound entry slip road * A19/A1130 northbound entry slip road * A66 Teesside Park eastbound entry slip road Work will take place during day time off peak hours from 10.30am to 3.30pm, and over night between 10pm and 5am.

During the work there will be a small number of full night time closures on the entry slip roads and A19 and A66.
