Traders will host grand reception for Imran on May 7 in Lahore.

LAHORE -- All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran central general secretary Naeem Mir and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhary have announced that traders of Lahore is going to organize a reception in honour of PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, which will be attended by a large number of business community.

Addressing a joint press conference on Saturday at a hotel, both leaders said that PTI national campaign in-charge Asad Umer and Lahore president Alim Khan will also attend the meeting.

Ejaz Ch said that as the function is being held in Shah Jamal, which falls in NA-122 where Imran Khan is contesting election against PML-N candidate Ayyaz Sadiq, it is hoped that a large number of PTI workers will attend the meeting.

PTI leader said that Imran Khan will speak specially on 'Economic revival of the country and PTI economic agenda'.

Addressing the press conference, APAT general secretary Naeem Mir said that it is demand of traders that PTI should announce its clear policy over the establishment of small traders' chambers.

He stated that under Trade Organization Act 2013 small chambers have been allowed but the condition of Rs. 2 million turnover for membership is also imposed which is not fair.

He asked the PTI to annul this condition if it is victorious in elections.

Besides, PTI should also make promise of land, building and grants provision for small chambers, he urged.

As no local bodies' election was held during last five years, the traders faced a number of problems, as they were given no representation in district governments at any level.

He demanded the PTI leadership of providing small traders an effective representation in different committees in new local bodies system of the PTI at district, Tehsil and union council levels.

The APAT general secretary pointing out the failure of tax revenue target by the FBR, suggested the PTI to bring agri income into tax net instead of imposing several new taxes on previous taxpayers. And this clause should be included in election manifesto, he stressed.

If PTI succeeds to become ruling party it should promise to make FBR an autonomous and independent body, pulling it out of all kinds of political pressures, he suggested.
