Tractor dealership adds to accolades.

A BLOSSOMING tractor dealership has won an award for cementing its place in the North Wales market.

Menai Tractors, based at Dinas, Caernarfon, was established less than four years ago but has already become one of the most important New Holland dealers in the UK.

In 2010 it was named the manufacturer's UK dealer of the year and now it has won another award for the best growth in New Holland market share.

Ian Roberts, of New Holland, said: "Menai Tractors has proved over the years that it has what is needed to be a quality New Holland Dealer. It is our intention that Menai Tractors has the opportunity for further growth over the coming years."

Run by Robert Wyn Jones and partner Gillian Parry, Menai Tractors launched in June 2007. It now employs six staff.

Mr Jones said 2010 had been an "excellent year" for sales.

But he added: "To project sales forward is more difficult. There's a lot of uncertainty over the future of Single Payments and people are counting to ten before they agree to spend pounds 40,000 or pounds 50,000 on a new tractor."

Gillian Parry also runs two other companies in Caernarfon - Tarian Insurance and Siop Morgeisi. In 2010 she achieved her own milestone with the launch of the first Welsh language on-line insurance system, Tarianarlein.
