The penultimate fixture of the Start Fitness North Eastern Harrier League takes place at Berry Edge, Consett, on Saturday. The under-13 girls event opens proceedings at 12.30pm with the senior men's race at 1.15pm.

South Shields Harriers are presenting a new event, the Sand Dancer 10km multi-terrain race on Saturday, March 25. The course is next to the Great North Run finish and the race starts at 11am. Postal entries close this weekend and should be sent to: R Shaw, 7 Burnside, East Boldon, NE36 OL5.

Officials club secretaries and athletes should note that the final fixture of the Start Fitness North Eastern Harrier League on Saturday, April 1, has been switched from Prudhoe to Blaydon.

Tynedale Harriers will still be the promoting club.

Blyth Running Club's Spirit of the Staithes 10km takes place on Sunday, April 2, with a 10am start. Entries, which close on March 27, should be sent to: Dave Kitchen, 30 Castledale Avenue, Blyth, NE24 4EL.

Hartlepool Marina five-mile Road Race is on Sunday, April 2, with a 10.30am start. For further information, contact Hartlepool BC Sports Development on 01429 284050.

Wallsend Harriers' 10km Road Race, scheduled for Sunday, April 9, with a 10am start, is being supported by the Environment Agency. Entries, which close on April 2, go to John Jamieson, 185 Allendale Road, Walker, Newcastle NE6 2SY.
