Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE: TM)(LSE: TYT)(TYO: 7203), a Japan-based automaker, is planning to develop a mass-produced fuel cell car by 2015.

The automaker is developing the vehicle in its latest attempt to exploit clean technology that runs on hydrogen.

Satoshi Ogiso, the Toyota Motor Corp. executive in charge of fuel cells, stated last week that the vehicle is not just for leasing to officials and celebrities, but will be an everyday car for ordinary consumers, widely available at dealers. The vehicle is to arrive at Japanese dealerships in 2015, and be available in Europe and the US within a year.
