Japan-based Toyota's venture capital company has launched a new USD100m fund dedicated to start-ups involved in automation and robotics.

The automaker has already invested in 19 different early stage start-ups including several automated robotics companies, a self-driving shuttle service, and a company that builds autonomous control systems for the maritime industry.

The venture firm offers capital and support resources to help start-ups to achieve their long-term goals, allowing entrepreneurs to benefit from the automaker's technical expertise.
