Toy giants' legal battle over dolls.

A BITTER court battle between the makers of Barbie and Bratz is drawing to a close.

Toy giants Mattel Inc claim doll designer Carter Bryant began developing the multibillion-pound Bratz line while working for them.

The Barbie makers allege rivals MGA Entertainment Inc then conspired with Bryant to steal the idea for the hip-hop inspired dolls.

MGA have countersued Mattel, claiming the firm spied on them at toy fairs.

Hundreds of millions of pounds and the rights to the blockbuster toy are at stake in the copyright infringement and trade secrets case, which has dragged on for six years.

Both sides have made their closing arguments and a jury in California will begin deliberations tomorrow.
