Toucan reduces broadband rates.

Broadband rates have been reduced by up to 36% by Toucan, a consumer telecomms company and part of IDT Corporation (NYSE:IDT), a telecomms, entertainment and technology company.

The download "cap" has also been removed across ToucanSurf's range of broadband Internet products and customers currently on capped plans will be moved to the new unlimited services without incurring additional monthly charges. Customers currently on uncapped plans will be given the opportunity to take up the reduced rates without transfer charges, while ToucanSurf's dial-up plan prices remain unaffected.

ToucanSurf 512K Unlimited now costs GBP13.99 per month, while the 1MB and 2MB Unlimited services now retail at GBP14.99 and GBP15.99 respectively, when taken alongside any ToucanTalk home phone service. The stand-alone prices are GBP14.99 for 512K Unlimited, GBP15.99 for 1MB Unlimited and GBP16.99 for 2MB Unlimited.

All ToucanSurf Broadband plans include a modem, installation CD, free setup, free 90 day trial of anti-virus and firewall software and are subject to a 12 month contract and fair usage policy.
