Toshiba helps solution providers deliver complete server offerings.

Toshiba's Digital Solutions Division (DSD) has announced new solutions designed to help channel partners turn more sales cycles, reduce installation times and deliver more value to their SMB customers. Toshiba's Mobile Productivity Solutions, which are based on Toshiba's Magnia server line, Portege Tablet PC series and Pocket PC devices, include specific hardware and software bundles to address many of the key IT challenges SMBs experience--from security and document management programs to education and healthcare solutions.

"Toshiba has demonstrated its commitment to provide solutions ideally suited for the SMB marketplace while offering continued support to the reseller community," said Steve Meyer of Lantech, a technology integrator and Toshiba solutions partner. "The Toshiba-Unitrends data-protection server bundle provides a quick install/setup process and fast turnaround time on the sales cycle, helping my team deliver the right tools to profitably and efficiently solve our customers' problems, while enabling mobility within smaller organizations that didn't think they could afford it."

"Before the Toshiba solutions, our team had to research, design and collect various components to build a custom configuration for every customer--taking our team an average of 12 to 24 hours per request," said Frank Trifilio, Dallas branch manager at Analytical Computer Services (ACS), a Toshiba channel solutions partner. "Now, using Toshiba's Mobile Productivity Solutions, it only takes about an hour to identify and order the right solution for our customers, giving the ACS team more time to spend with clients on other technical needs to help their business grow."

Each server solution has been carefully selected to provide channel partners with efficient and affordable ways to meet the emerging IT needs and challenges of their customers. The turnkey server bundles provide all of the hardware and software in one convenient package, giving providers everything they need to quickly deliver value to customers while increasing their own profits. With over 18 different software packages designed to solve SMB needs, Toshiba's Mobile Productivity Solutions include:

--Security Solutions: Enforce network security and virus protection using Toshiba's Magnia SG25, SG30 or Z310 bundled with Astaro's Security Linux software to prevent viruses, spam and unauthorized access to networks. With a firewall and VPN gateway, the Toshiba-Astaro solution provides secure connectivity to company information.

--Data Protection & Backup Solutions: Simplify backup and provide complete data protection for your customers using Toshiba's Magnia Z310 pre-loaded with data recovery solutions from Unitrends and NetX.

--Document Management Solutions: Organize paper and electronic documents with Toshiba's Magnia servers and management software from Boston Business Technologies and Search Express.

"We implemented the Toshiba-Astaro server-software solution to help improve workplace productivity and increase company revenue," said Mike Davis, sales director of Garland, Texas-based ADCO Industries. "Between the Toshiba server and Astaro security software, we are able to spend less time maintaining the network, managing viruses and monitoring employee Web-surfing and more time focused on running and expanding our business."

Along with offering a variety of solution choices, a dedicated sales organization has been created by Toshiba to help channel partners sell high-margin solutions. Margins typically range from 12 percent to 25 percent for each solution, in addition to opportunities for installation/consulting services, the sale of additional licenses and ongoing support.

Through Toshiba's Preferred Partner Program, solution providers can meet the needs of the SMB market, become more profitable, acquire more customers and jointly participate in marketing activities with Toshiba. Revenues can be further enhanced through the Monthly Rebate Program, and with Toshiba's range of products, financing and solutions, Preferred Partners can deliver value to their customers at affordable rates.
