Toshiba also announced its new SoftIPT SoftPhone, which wirelessly extends the features and functionality of Toshiba desktop telephones to suitably equipped PDAs running PocketPC 2003 and laptops, tablet PCs, and PCs running Windows 2000 or XP. Available this fall, the SoftIPT SoftPhone allows users to access their telephone features from virtually any location by connecting to the enterprise's Toshiba Strata CIX native IP business communications system or Strata CTX digital business communications system, through 802.11 wireless networks.

The company also announced its new Toshiba Strata Wireless IP Telephone, Model WIPT 2000, an enterprise-class 802.11 wireless IP telephone. Toshiba's Strata Wireless IP Telephone leverages Wi-Fi coverage over the enterprise WLAN, giving users full mobility at the company campus. It offers nearly all of the features of a desktop phone in a wireless IP phone.
