Toshiba announces Satellite A75 notebooks with Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processors.

Toshiba's Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. and provider of industry-leading portable computers, projectors and other mobile-related services and products celebrating Toshiba's 20th anniversary of the first mass-marketed laptop computer, has announced new additions to its Satellite A75 series offering powerful computing with Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processors.

The Satellite A75-S125 is an affordable notebook for students, home office workers and others who want desktop PC features in a mobile form factor. It incorporates a 3.20 GHz Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor(1) 538 supporting HT Technology, 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen display enhanced with Toshiba TruBrite technology, a DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive compatible with current DVD formats that nearly doubles a recordable DVD's storage capacity in DVD+R format, 40GB hard drive spinning at 5400 rpm for quick access to stored files, 512MB memory and Microsoft Windows XP Home operating system. Pricing for the Satellite A75-S125 will vary at major consumer electronics and computer stores nationwide.

Toshiba is also introducing the Satellite A75-S213, offering advanced performance in a sleek package for personal or business use. With a 15.4-inch diagonal widescreen display enhanced with Toshiba TruBrite technology, the product features a 3.33 GHz Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor 548 supporting HT Technology, Microsoft Windows XP Home operating system, a 5400 rpm 100GB hard drive, DVD SuperMulti Double-Layer drive, instant-on CD function and SRS TruSurround XT technology with virtual surround sound. The estimated single unit price is $1,449.

"The Satellite A75-S125 notebook offers consumers powerful mobile computing performance, while the A75-S213 is well-equipped for advanced productivity and entertainment applications," said Taro Hiyama, vice president of marketing, Digital Products Division, Toshiba America Information Systems. "Both serve as high-quality mobile replacements for desktop PCs." Ready for on-the-go computing, both Satellite A75 notebooks come with integrated 802.11b/g wireless and Toshiba ConfigFree software, an intuitive graphic connectivity management utility designed to simplify the connectivity experience when using both wired and wireless Ethernet.

Included Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 software enables users to better capture, organize, find and share notes gathered from e-mail, meetings, presentations, classes, the Web and other sources. OneNote captures virtually any type of information--ranging from typed notes to audio--in a single convenient place.

The Satellite A75 series notebooks come with a limited one-year warranty with Toshiba's premier global service for the mobile computing user. Extended limited warranties are available. Customers can choose from several service options, carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers throughout the country for same-day or next-day service, or utilizing any of more than 3,000 UPS Stores for packaging and delivery of the product to a centralized Depot for 24-hour service turnaround.

A 30-day free trial of MyConnect Internet Access Service (www.toshibamyconnect.com) provides notebook computer users unlimited Internet access in hotels, airports, restaurants, bookstores, etc. via Wi-Fi, broadband cable or dial-up connection.

Suggested accessories for use with the Satellite A75 series include the Toshiba Ultra-Mini Retractable Scroller Mouse, and the Toshiba keyboard protector, which helps protect against spills and crumbs.
