Toshiba Adds a New IP Telephone Model Delivering Analog CO Line Interface for Local Dialing Including Emergency Calls

IRVINE, Calif. -- Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. Telecommunication Systems Division (TAIS TSD) today announced its new Toshiba IPT2010-SDC IP Desk Telephone, which includes an Analog CO line interface for local dialing, including emergency calls. It is compatible with Toshiba's Strata[R] CIX[TM] family of IP business communication systems for small- to medium-sized enterprises, national accounts and government users.

"While we are fully committed to VoIP solutions, we recognize that CO lines are still an important part of enterprise calling needs, particularly for important emergency calls," said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba's Telecommunication Systems Division. "For this reason, we built analog CO line capabilities into our newest IP telephone, along with Toshiba's full feature set in a robust, reliable business telephone."

Toshiba's new Strata IPT2010-SDC delivers all the features and functionality of Toshiba's digital telephones in an IP format, including:

* 10 programmable feature buttons that enable users to customize the telephone's use to meet their own unique needs.

* A two-line by 24-character LCD for at-a-glance information such as Caller ID and feature prompting.

* Full-duplex speakerphone.

* Analog CO line interface for local dialing and emergency calls.

* Handset/headset choice, off-hook dialing, hands-free use (not supported in analog CO mode), and ring tones (different for IP and analog lines).

* Power provided via Power over Ethernet (PoE) or local AC Adapter.

* Compatibility with Toshiba's entire family of Strata CIX IP business telephone systems, including CIX670, CIX200, CIX100, CIX40.

* Compatibility with Toshiba's older Strata CTX systems that support IP interface units.

Available now, retail pricing for the new IPT2010-SDC is estimated at $370(a), pricing that makes it less expensive than many competitive models, and with more features, and includes Toshiba's reliability, durability and warranty.
