Tory MPs: Don't give 'lazy' BoJo No10 keys.
Byline: Nigel Nelson
TORY MPs are campaigning to stop Boris Johnson becoming PM.
Under Tory leadership election rules MPs will choose two MPs out of the 17 expected to run.
It will then be up to the party's 124,000 members to decide the winner.
Boris will need the support of 106 MPs.
But one said: "We are not having him. He's lazy, incompetent, says stupid things and absolutely the wrong person to be PM.
"And he has betrayed his wife which will go down badly, especially among older members."
A Boris ally said: "After Mrs May, we need someone with charisma to take on Nigel Farage.
"He's a vote-winner and many of our Leaver constituency associations will put pressure on their MPs to vote for him."
Boris is clear favourite with the bookies. A Times poll yesterday said 39 per cent of Tory members backed him.
Dominic Raab was second on 13 per cent.
Home Secretary Sajid Javid and Environment Secretary Michael Gove score nine per cent, while Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt gets eight per cent.
Commons leader Andrea Leadsom and Defence Secretary Penny Mordaunt are on five per cent each.
