Tory 'sorry' for abusive email rants; WESTMINSTER.
Byline: JAMES LYONS Deputy Political EditorA RUDE Tory MP issued a grovelling apology last night after sending "abusive and offensive" messages to Westminster expenses staff.
Backbencher Karl McCartney attached notes to his claims for taxpayers' cash, telling one watchdog official they were "talking sh**e".
The MP for a marginal Lincoln seat, condemned another as a "pedantic SOAB" (son of a b***h). On a third note to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority he wrote: "Simples, or didn't you do Geography at Eton and Oxford?" IPSA chief executive Andrew McDonald revealed Mr McCartney's abuse in a letter he made public after an attack on him by the MP.
Mr McCartney said last night: "I apologise unreservedly to IPSA for my comments which were inappropriate, and which I regret.
"I accept that such comments have given cause for offence."
