Tories face cuts rally.

RMT train workers union leader Bob Crow is among guest speakers at an anticuts rally being held to mark the arrival of the Tory Party Conference in Birmingham.

The TUC has organised a demonstration march from the High Street starting at 11.30am on Sunday, October 7, finishing with a rally at St Marks open space, opposite the National Indoor Arena. More than 7,000 people took part in a similar rally before the 2010 Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham.

Unions taking part, including RMT, NUT, NASUWT, Unison, CWU, FBU and ASLEF, are calling on the Government to abandon the austerity cuts.
