These proceedings for the May-June 2006 conference center on the study of algebraic, differential, symplectic-geometric, combinatorial and homotopy-theoretic aspects of a particular class of torus actions whose quotients are highly structured. This rich field of study reveals a range of different aspects of and approaches to torus actions. The 26 research and review papers here cover such topics as cohomological aspects of torus actions, miraculous cancellations and Pick's theorem, weighted hyperprojective spaces and homotopy invariance in orbifold cohomology, the invariance property of orbifold elliptic genus for multi-fans, tropical toric geometry, graphs of two-torus actions, categorical aspects of toric topology, permutation actions on equivalent cohomology of flag varieties, asymptotic partition functions for root systems and the K-theory of torus manifolds.
