Tori Amos, Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, November 6

***

DESPITE being 20 minutes late, fans gave Tori Amos a standing ovation as she floated onto the stage.

Wearing a pink satin dress, the whimsical 48-year-old said she'd planned on wearing the same colours as one of Glasgow's top football teams - but forgot which colour they wore.

Did she care? A quick flick of the middle finger and a hat-trick of F-words suggested not.

You could gauge the popularity of her set by the amount of mobile phones held up during each number. With one hand on a grand piano and another on an electric keyboard, Amos' fingers were at their best during the likes of Snow Cherries From France and Martha's Foolish Ginger. In most fans' eyes, it appears she can walk on water.
