Torghar outshines in District Performance Scorecard.

PESHAWAR -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department (E and SED) with the support of Department for International Development (DFID) has announced the remarkable results of the District Performance Scorecard (DPS) for the month of January 2019.

The event was held at the Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Secretary Education, Arshad Khan, Director ESED Dr. Hafiz Ibrahim, and all

District Education Officers attended the event.

According to the district ranking results for the month of January 2019, district Torghar clutches the first position by securing 60.2% marks, followed by district Buner with 58.3%, Haripur with 57.6%, Tank with 53.7% and Swabi with 53.3%.

E and SE Department introduced District Performance Scorecards (DPS), previously known as District Performance Evaluation System (DPES) in October 2017, with the aim to improve the performance of District Education Offices through better governance and data utilization.

Data for DPS is obtained from multiple sources such as BISE, IMU, PITE, SQMI, OAMIS, and PIFRA.

To make DPS ranking more competitive, progress of December 2018 was set as the baseline to track progress of January 2019 from the previous month. For the first time, in January 2019, performance of newly merged districts and FR regions was also presented since IMU has begun its monitoring in the areas.

Altogether, there has been substantial progress noted in the several key education indicators of all

the districts. There is a considerable increase in student attendance rate in district Buner and Swabi by 4% and 3% respectively. Torghar and Buner showed highest improved in teacher attendance rate by 4% and 3% respectively. 9 districts have closed 95% and above cases in online action management system, Chitral being on the top.

District Kohistan and Chitral scored 100% in the induction programme participation rate. D.I Khan, Tank and Peshawar have successfully completed all the targeted visits of SQMI (School Quality Management Initiative).More than 95% of schools in district Mardan and Nowshera have all basic facilities available.
