Top soil transaction. (Real Deals).

A 300-acre purchase in west Pulaski County added up to a near $1.2 million deal (about $4,000 per acre).

Alotian Club LLC, led by Warren Stephens, bought the farmland east of Highway 300 between Roland and Natural Steps.

The limited liability company purchased the property from Joe Doerpinghaus through West Little Rock Trucking Inc.

The property previously was tied to 1996 mortgage of $250,000 and a March 1997 mortgage of $110,000, held by Bank of Little Rock, and a January 2000 mortgage of $111,925 held by Charles Doerpinghaus.

The Doerpinghaus family entered the ownership picture in February 1996 with a $298,000 buy from Wayne Calhoun, Mary Winkler Coale and Clemens Winkler Jr.

The property had been owned by the Calhoun/Winkler families for more than 80 years.
