Top dog Leo bow-wows the judges.

ADORABLE spaniel Leo was cocker-hoop yesterday after being crowned 2018 Holyrood Dog of the Year.

The three-month-old puppy impressed the judges with his charm and devotion to his owner and his constituents.

The competition, organised by the Kennel Club and Dogs Trust, took place at Scottish Parliament gardens at Horse Wynd, Edinburgh.

MSPs entering the competition canvassed for votes from the public before meeting the judges to yap about their dogs.

Tory Maurice Golden was delighted Leo had won, saying: "Leo is the cutest dog."

Bill Lambert, from the Kennel Club, said: "Congratulations to Leo and Maurice."

Other canines in the running were bichon frise Lucy, owned by SNP MP Gillian Martin, and West Highland terrier Bobby, who belongs to Tory MSP Maurice Corry.
