Top doc faces uni stab rap.
AN academic appeared in court yesterday accused of the attempted murder of a Cambridge University student allegedly having an affair with her husband.
Respected foot doctor Alethea Foster, 61, wept as she gazed at husband John from the dock.
Julie Simpson, 44, was found with multiple wounds at Lucy Cavendish college on Monday.
Foster spoke only to confirm personal details to Cambridge magistrates and was remanded in custody until October 12 when she will appear at the city's crown court
Julie, a former BBC TV producer, was last night in a "serious but stable condition" in Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.
Neighbours at Julie's home in Beckenham, Kent, yesterday claimed she had been seeing a married man for about four years.
Foster, a mother-of-two, is an award-winning author and leading clinical specialist podiatrist at King's College Hospital in London. She lives in a pounds 1.2million, eight-bedroom home in Bromley, Kent.
