Tommy Sheridan Column: Gilchrist's retained his dignity.
I MET Andy Gilchrist last Saturday at the firefighters demo in Glasgow. He was there with his wife and children.
Andy has taken some abuse from the gutter press. In fact, any day now I expect to read that they've discovered a link between al Qaeda and the Fire Brigades Union.
Despite the vitriol, Andy has retained his dignity and humour.
He told the rally of a meeting with John Presott. The Deputy PM expressed his outrage at the lie that MPs had awarded themselves a 40 per cent rise.
"It wasn't the MPs - it was only the Cabinet Ministers," he reassured the firefighters.
