Tolls not the answer; firstname.lastname@example.org Letters.
THE government is playing with the idea of toll roads. Now we know that toll roads lose money.
The Spaghetti Toll Road in particular is overpriced, vastly under used and losing money every year. While Spaghetti Junction itself is grossly overloaded and requires a lot of regular expensive maintenance, plus accident rates are high. So why not evaluate the average costs per year of the junction? Divide it in half, and offer the sum to the toll road owners, on condition they vastly reduce their tolls.
This will entice traffic onto the toll road, and reduce congestion on the other, which will also reduce maintenance costs. This should make both sides happy.
