TV Tokyo will broadcast the first episode of Saudi Arabian anime, The Woodcutter's Treasure.

The animated co-production is reportedly the first of its kind between Japan's Toei Animation and Saudi Arabia's Manga Productions, an affiliated company of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's MiSK Foundation.

As reported by Saudi Press Agency, the cartoon will run for 13 episodes, each 20-minute-long episode is based on Saudi Arabian folklore and aimed at children and families. The cartoon will be in both Arabic and Japanese.

The Toei Animation Co. and Saudi Arabia's Manga Productions also plan to "co-produce a 13-episode folklore series and a 90-minute movie that will introduce Arabic culture and traditions to children and anime fans across the globe through anime content."

In March this year,Manga Productions participated at AnimeJapan 2018 and exhibited games, anime and Saudi Arabian culture at the event.
