Tokyo, Taiwan exchanges sign cooperative pact+.

TOKYO, Nov. 29 Kyodo

The Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) and the Taiwan Stock Exchange on Wednesday signed an agreement on wide-ranging cooperation, including exchange of information on investor protection and market development, the TSE said.

The agreement also calls for the two exchanges to cooperate in matters of concern to both exchanges in order to maintain sound, safe and stable markets, the TSE said in a press release.

''The signing of this agreement is an opportunity to further strengthen the already good relations between our exchanges, and to work for the development of both markets,'' TSE President Masaaki Tsuchida said.

The TSE has already signed similar agreements with stock exchanges in Singapore and Australia and has agreed to sign a similar agreement with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
