KUWAIT, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- 1962 -- The Constituent Assembly approved the constitution, which was endorsed eight days later by the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. 1963 -- The first West German Consul to Kuwait presented his credentials to the Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. 1974 -- Kuwait inaugurated its embassy in Senegal. 1987 -- A car explosion near the Interior Ministry caused damage, but no casualties. 1990 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah addressed Kuwaitis and the whole world three months after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, saying that only the implementation of international, Arab, and Islamic resolutions would ensure the end of the Iraqi occupation. 2005 -- Kuwait was handed five of its Guantanamo detainees; Adel Al-Zamil, Abdullah Al-Ajmi, Saad Al-Azmi, Abdulaziz Al-Shimmeri and Mohammad Al-Daihani. 2009 -- Kuwait Sports Club (Kuwait SC) won the sixth Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup, beating Al-Karama from Syria 2-1. 2010 -- First balloon sinuplasty operation conducted on a patient suffering from chronic sinus infection.
