Today in Kuwait's history.

KUWAIT, April 10 (KUNA) -- 1945 -- Morris Patrick, a new British Political Commissioner, was appointed in Kuwait. He stayed in office until August 15th, 1947. 1960 -- Kuwait became full member of the Inter-Governmental Maritime Consultative Organization (IMCO). 1972 -- A decree by Law was issued approving Kuwait's joining the protocol concerning immunity and privileges of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) and its employees, signed July 12th, 1969. 1972 -- A decree by Law was issued approving the Arab agreement on capital investment and movement, which was reached in Damascus, August 29th, 1970. The move was in response to a resolution adopted by the Arab Economic Union Council in its 15th session in Damascus, August 26, 1970. 1988 -- The late Amir His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated the meetings of the Executive Bureau of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). The Bureau, according to the last OIC summit resolutions in Kuwait, is instructed to coordinate works of OIC specialized bodies. 1995 -- The meat processing factory of the Livestock Transport and Trade Company was opened. It was then the largest and most modern factory in the region. 2000 -- The Health Ministry announced the health insurance for expatriates project. Virtue of this development, residency permits would only be approved after health insurance stamps. 2000 -- Kuwait Magic mall was opened in Abu Hulaifa area, stretching an overall 98,486 square meter area. The mall has a children entertainment area and a cultural village section, along with other utilities and services, and was part of the state's coastline development projects. 2007 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued law 78/2007 stating that the Oil Ministry is responsible for the state's oil resources and their development and investment to bolster the national income.
