Today's office, tomorrow's empty space.

Today's Office, Tomorrow's Empty Space

Apparently, the retail office supply business is struggling.

The west Little Rock location of Today's Office Inc. closed Aug. 30 and will combine operations with its downtown store.

Meanwhile, rumors are circulating that Downtown Office Supply's store in west Little Rock will follow a similar path.

In late June, Downtown Office Supply was purchased by Buschart Office Products Inc. of St. Louis, a subsidiary of BT Office Supplies USA.

"If anything happens, it will be the latter part of this year or the first of next year," a spokesman says. "The retail office business is just not what it used to be."

The rumors of an impending move or closure may have stemmed from an upcoming sale (up to 90 percent off, folks) at the Shackleford Road location.

We are told that it is not, however, a going-out-of-business sale. But these guys have burned us before.
