Provider of eye tracking solutions Tobii Technology (STO:TOBII) on Wednesday announced the launch by Tobii Dynavox of the new Tobii IS4 eye-tracking platform, an upgrade to its main product lines of eye-controlled computer access and communication products with next-generation eye-tracking components.

The Tobii IS4 eye-tracking platform will be integrated into the I-Series+ devices and the new product PCEye Mini.

Tobii Dynavox, a provider of eye-controlled communication and computer access products, is upgrading several of its products with new eye-tracking components. The first product to the market is the new eye-tracking computer peripheral PCEye Mini, which is the smallest eye-tracking peripheral on the market.

Sales are expected to begin immediately and the PCEye Mini will replace PCEye Go. The upgraded I-Series+, Tobii Dynavox's medical-grade eye-controlled communication devices, will also be equipped with the IS4 platform and are scheduled to start shipping during the second quarter.

Tobii operates through the three business units of Tobii Dynavox, which makes specially designed computers that are controlled by eye movement or touch screens for use by people with special needs due to spinal cord injuries, CP, ALS or other medical conditions; Tobii Pro, which develops and sells eye-tracking equipment and services and Tobii Tech, which further develops Tobii's technology for new volume markets, such as computer games, personal computers, virtual reality and vehicles.
