To the Point; your letters.

Byline: EDITED BY FIONA PARKER

MY father gave six years of his life fighting for his country in the Second World War, but now his 91-year-old widow has to pay tax on the small private pension he left her.

Meanwhile, npower pays zero tax on PS766million profit. Words fail me!

David Smith, Harwich, Essex

YES, Thatcher is dead, but that does not mean Thatcherism is dead - Britain is still a greedy, selfish, ugly country where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

"New Labour" failed to undo Thatcherism, and the poor, homeless and unemployed are no better off now than when she ruled.

The next Labour government must grasp the nettle. I trust Ed Miliband has the same strength and courage to undo Thatcherism that the Iron Lady had to make this land a greedy rat race.

D Sawtell Tydd St Giles, Cambs

That's what we get for having Calamity Cameron in charge.
