Title role is costly.

JUST in case you do not own an oil rig, comforting news of a predicted upturn in Scotland's economic activity comes from an unlikely source.

Over the last seven years, the value of a Scottish barony title has risen from an average of PS46,000 to PS75,000.

This is according to our old friend Brian"Raider of the Lost Titles"Hamilton, ex-North Sea welder late of Cammachmore near Stonehaven.

Hamilton, whose firm Scottish Barony Titles trades in these highly desirable (apparently) medieval fripperies, reckons there are now only 400 existing titles out of an original 2000 in circulation, but no one is selling.

You've heard of the law of supply and demand .So hurry hurry.

A word of warning. For your money you get lots of history and the chance to spend even more money on things like coats of arms. But that's it.
