Titans grab first-round win at Chemeketa tournament.

SALEM - Lane Community College's women's basketball team got off to a solid start in the Chemeketa Holiday Tournament with an 88-49 first-round victory over Blue Mountain Community College on Thursday.

The Titans, ranked second in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges coaches poll, advance to a 4 p.m. semifinal game today against Columbia Basin, the NWAACC's fourth-ranked team.

Jennifer Kimbrow came off the bench to score 18 points and fellow reserve Lisa Busch added 11 for the Titans (11-2). Mercedes Alexander had 14 rebounds for Lane.

Amanda Anderson's 18 points led Blue Mountain, which lost 79-60 to Lane two weeks ago in Pendleton.
