Tishman revels in AC resort success.
It's the Jersey Shore as you've never seen it before. Tishman Construction Corporation, an AECOM company, completed Revel, a $2.4-billion beachfront destination, six weeks early. Tishman provided construction management services for the 20-acre, 47-story resort which features nearly 1,000 feet of beach frontage. Despite a pause in construction before Governor Chris Christie announced that the State of New Jersey would invest $260 million in the project in exchange for 20% of the revenues--Tlshman turned over 6.3 million square feet of space in time for the hotel's preview on April 2, 2012. In total, Revel stands more than 730 feet tall, consists of over 6,3 million square feet of space, and is enclosed by 836,762 s/f of glass--equivalent to more than 16 football fields, Tishman installed more than five million pounds of sheet metal and over 7,500 plumbing fixtures. "It's always a proud moment when we hand over successfully finished buildings to our clients," explained Tom Keane, Tishman's Project Executive for the Revel project. "But to be able to hand over such a substantial and elaborate facility six weeks early and despite significant setbacks is a huge accomplishment in my mind, and I am so proud of the team and everyone involved."
