Tishman named to board of directors.
"Dan compiled an outstanding record as chairman of our Real Estate and Construction Division from 2000 to 2003," said Israel Bonds board chairman Burton P. Resnick of Jack Resnick & Sons.
"He is now continuing his leadership and service as general chairman of the greater New York campaign."
Tishman heads a family organization that was founded by his great-grandfather Julius Tishman in 1898.
He is responsible for his companies' activities and operations on a diverse list of projects totaling over $4 billion in the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. Tishman was in charge of building the 863-room, $300 million Westin New York at Times Square that opened in 2002.
He currently heads construction of the new 7 World Trade Center and Freedom Tower for Silverstein Properties, One Bryant Park for the Durst Organization and Bank of America, and multiple projects for Verizon, including 140 West Street near Ground Zero.
Tishman serves on the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York, Executive Committee of the New York Building Congress, Board of Trustees of the Natural Resources Defense Council, Board of Overseers of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Advisory Council of the American Museum of Natural History's Center for Biodiversity and Conservation.
