Tishman completes fast-track fit-outs.
MFS Intelenet, a subsidiary of MFS Communications Company, Inc., the largest provider of competitive access telecommunications services in the country, is an alternative to the "Baby Bell" companies for business customers. MFS Intelenet's service is the nation's only combined system for local and long distance telecommunications.
TEshman Interiors completed the high-technology fit-out of 33,000 square feet in Jersey City within a tight three-month timetable. Designed by Gensler and Associates, the space was built to house the MFS Northeast division headquarters offices, customer service and sales areas, and a state-of-the-art telecommunications switch installation that provides local and long distance service to corporate users from the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. Focal points of the space include MFS Intelenet's National Communications Center, training areas, and open-plan office space. The communications center serves as the nerve center from which MFS monitors and remotely controls its fiber optics network and switch sites.
Just four months after building the Jersey City location, MFS Intelenet found itself rapidly outgrowing the space, and hired Tishman to handle the relocation of its Northeast division headquarters offices to Parsippany, New Jersey. In less than four weeks, Tishman supervised the fast-track renovation of 22,000 square feet of office, customer service, and administrative support space, including hiring architect The Phillips Janson Group to produce the design. MFS personnel moved in just one month after the project was initiated.
