TippingPoint Chief Architect to Keynote RSA Security Conference.

Security Experts from TippingPoint Discuss Trends in Access Control, IPS Advancements, VoIP Security, and Endpoint Security

AUSTIN, Tx. -- TippingPoint, a division of 3Com and the leader in intrusion prevention, announced that its Chief Architect Brian Smith will keynote the 2007 RSA Conference at 3:40 p.m. on February 8 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California. Smith will disclose TippingPoint's vision for comprehensive network security via an overlay network model where attack control, application control, and access control are applied as an overlay to the existing network. In his presentation on the "Quiet Revolution in Networking Security," Smith will also unveil TippingPoint's solution and vision for network access control.

Others from the TippingPoint division will also be discussing trends on voice over IP security, access control, IPS advancements, and endpoint security at the 2007 RSA Conference. TippingPoint speakers include:

* David Endler, director of security research for TippingPoint and chairman of the Voice over IP Security Alliance, will speak with Mark Collier, CTO of SecureLogix, on Voice over IP Security on February 7 at 9:10 a.m. The two have recently co-authored a book on the subject, Hacking Exposed: VoIP.

* TippingPoint customers Mike Briggs of George Washington University Law School and Susan Homes of Collinsville Community Unit School District No. 10 will be speaking about intrusion prevention systems on February 7 at 10:40 a.m.

* Rohit Dhamankar, senior manager of security research, will speak on an intrusion prevention panel titled "On the Defensive: Leading IPS Vendors Discuss Enterprise Defense." The panel will take place February 6 at 1:30 p.m. The panel will be moderated by Research Director Pete Lindstrom of the Burton Group.

* Kaj Gronholm, vice president of network access control for TippingPoint, will participate in a panel on network access control titled "Emerging Solutions in Enterprise IAM: The Amazing NAC Race." The session will be held on February 6 at 1:30 p.m.

* Robert Albach, TippingPoint senior product manager, will speak on "Securing Endpoints with Network Solutions" on February 8 at 9:10 a.m.

* Brian Smith, chief architect, will speak on a panel in the enterprise defense track titled "ICSA Labs IPS Testing." TippingPoint was one of four vendors to achieve IPS ICSA certification this year. ICSA's testing covers security coverage, accuracy, and performance. The session will be February 7 at 9:10 a.m.
