Time we stop being world's breadbasket; LETTERS&NOSTALGIA.

WITH this country having democratically voted for Brexit, and all that it should stand for, it was a bit surprising to hear our Prime Minister stating at the United Nations that Britain would continue to be one of the major contributors to the poverty in the third world. Following on with the promise to contribute more millions to The Yemen in their situation.

Our health service is in turmoil, with wards and A&Es closing. Has our Government never heard the saying: charity begins at home? Why are we continually borrowing money to hand out to other countries, and our weekly contribution to the EU at the expense of the British workers.

Stop being the breadbasket of the world and reward our own workers for their efforts. Then, when we have cleared our debt, instead of handing out money to the politicians of these so called poor countries, buy their produce, thus encouraging them to work.
