Time to get suited and booted.

WHILE the women will likely grab all the fashion attention at the annual Christmas party, us fellas can still make an impact in what we decide to wear.

Compared to the opposite sex, the choice of clothing for men has always been a bit limited to say the least.

Women have cocktail dresses, trouser suits, jumpsuits, short skirts, long skirts, pencil skirts, maxi dresses, blouses, sparkly tops, not to mention the endless selection of shoes, bags and accessories to choose from.

Men on the other hand have shirts, trousers and ties, and generally that's it.

But don't let that put you off because, while there is less choice than what our female counterparts enjoy, there is still a huge opportunity to make a statement in an outfit that will wow your fellow guests.

This party season, opt for a sleek, slim-fitting ash grey suit, and compliment with a crisp, tailored purple shirt, pencil tie and sturdy black leather shoes.

For a less formal bash, team smart, black denim jeans with a shirt and jumper; match plum chinos with a classic cardigan, or combine camel chinos with a light shirt, tie and navy blue woollen blazer.

Remember, the high street stores continue to embrace Mod, preppy and militaryesque designs, so look in that direction for inspiration.
