Time to enjoy a drop of the black stuff.
A SURVEY found Brits drink more booze when on holiday abroad.
They drink-drive and take drugs, 22% are drunk and disorderly, 12% have sex in a public place, 10% get into a fight because of drink, and 40% said they do things abroad they would never consider doing at home.
Hundreds of passengers are arrested on suspicion of being drunk on a plane or at a British airport every year.
As soon as they clear security, 62% head straight for the bar, no matter what the time of day, and 28% admit they were drunk when they boarded.
A recent case was that of an 18-year-old from Walsall who collapsed with alcoholic poisoning in Magaluf after drinking 75 shots.
Following emergency hospital treatment he was back in the bars the following night because, he said:"That's what you do in Magaluf."
Which is why this year we'll be going to Ireland.
A great country, delightful people and a modicum of Guinness.
And, believe it or not, I have yet to see a drunk on the plane.
