Time to change Vale's politics; VIEWPOINTS.

THE attack on Barry's Plaid Cymru Councillor Nic Hodges by Labour's candidate Alana Davies ("Plaid man accused of backing Tory", Echo, October 8) over whether the Tories will win the Vale smacks of political desperation.

If Labour is so worried about losing they Vale it should have selected a candidate who actually lives in the Vale of Glamorgan.

At least Plaid's candidate, Dr Ian Johnson, is from Barry - a local lad we can trust. Labour is treating the people of the Vale with contempt by selecting someone from outside the constituency.

If the Tories unfortunately do get in then, quite frankly, New Labour has only itself to blame. Maybe it's time for a change of political scenery, and Plaid is the only party in the Vale that seems to be run by ordinary local people not careerists.
