Time for new faces; VOICE OF THE voice@mirror.co.uk.

MIKE Nesbitt today reveals his hopes for the full recovery of Iris Robinson - the woman whose political demise has given him the chance of a lifetime.

The former journalist and news anchor, whose own wife suffers from depression, said he would prefer to fight Mrs Robinson for the seat because that would mean she was in better health.

There is definitely something touching about Nesbitt's compassion, something endearing about his generosity, something indeed that many of our politicians may scoff at.

But perhaps those same scoffing politicians should realise that Northern Ireland's fed-up public wants and needs leaders who show genuine humanity.

Let's hope the UUP allows their newest signing to become the sort of politician who can make real and vital change to a country clamouring for a chance to blossom again.

That really would be a great new beginning.
