Time Off: with Danny McCall.

ACTOR and singer Danny McCall is rising to a new challenge. The former Brookside actor is now an outside broadcaster for Channel 5's The Terry and Gaby Show.

HOW DO YOU UNWIND? To be honest,I go down to the gym.I've had a personal trainer for a while now. Exercise helps me to unwind but I've been a naughty boy lately, with filming The Terry and Gaby Show, and I'venot been as often. Other than that I like to get into my pit - and sleep!

WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READ-ING AT THE MOMENT? I'm read-ing about a friend of mine,an unauthorised biography on Chris Evans.

CAN YOU COOK,IF SO WHAT'S YOUR SPECIALITY? Yes I can cook because I went to Colquitt Street catering college -I think I was thrown out for combing my hair in class! But I'm very good at pasta dishes with lovely sauces. I have picked up some tips up from my mate,Aldo Zilli, like roasting cherry tomatoes and using them. WHICH FAMOUS PERSON WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO SPEND A DAY WITH? Madonna. She intrigues me and I think she can act but she always gets slated, so we could talk about acting. I saw her the other day in My Street with Guy Ritchie. Like a divvy I said `hiyalove, how are ya?'.He answered,`all right wack',but she stared at me like I was an alien.

DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY? Getting a phone call to say I have got a massive job. There's nothing better than getting that call from your agent.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FILM AND WHY? Silence Of The Lambs, Anthony Hopkins is such a fantastic actor. I have watched that film so many times I can do every single character's lines.

WHAT SORT OF MUSIC DO YOU PREFER TO LISTEN TO? All sorts, from pop to classical. IF CELEBRATING WHAT WOULD BE YOUR TIPPLE? Everything, the lot ...no,Jack Daniels.
