Tiger flag - the Tamil language contact point for UK Met Police.
London, Sept. 9 -- The Metro Police of United Kingdom has installed the flag of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam as one of the language contact points.
The LTTE has been proscribed as a terrorist organization in the United Kingdom, but installing the proscribed terrorist organization's flag as the Tamil Language contact point is intriguing.
In a recent press release, under the caption, "Information about contact points", Met Police has installed the national flags of countries to identify language contact points.
They have provided national flags of countries of the e languages given below as the respective language contact points in their latest press release -
Unfortunately, in the case of the Tamil Language, Met Police has provided the flag of the proscribed Terrorist organization - Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam as the Tamil Language contact points.
It is unclear why they have come up with the flag of the LTTE as the Tamil Language contact point andAsian Tribune is also waiting like others for the explanation from UK's Met Police for the reason behind installing LTTE flag as the Tamil Language contact Point.
May be Met Police might have installed the flag of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as the the Tamil Language contact point with the view to promote them.
In Sri Lanka, Tamil Language is constitutionally given parity of status and it would have apt to have the national flag of Sri Lanka a the Tamil Language contact point.
