Tiger, the spy with VIP pals, dies aged 94.
Byline: BILL BOND
A GLAMOROUS wartime spy who became friends with US presidents and movie stars has died at 94.
New York-born Aline Griffith, codename Tiger, was sent to Madrid in 1944 to pinpoint Nazis with links to the Franco regime.
The former teenage model stayed at the Spanish capital's Hotel Ritz, posing as a good-time girl, and mixed with actors, aristocrats and singers.
Aline gave up espionage when she married grandee the Count of Romanones, only telling him her secret the night before they wed.
She remained in Spain and counted among her friends Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Jackie Kennedy, Ava Gardner, Audrey Hepburn, Deborah Kerr, Prince Rainier of Monaco and Grace Kelly.
